When people hear the words Gold Coast they usually conjure up images of white sandy beaches, the glitter strip...Surfers Paradise and the theme parks. But did you know there is another side that is so naturally breathtaking, you will actually stop and realise just how unbelievably lucky we are. Our creeks and estuaries would have to be some of the most beautiful family friendly days out for everyone to enjoy. Whether you like to fish, paddle board, kayak, sun bake (remember to slip slop slap), cook a bbq, or dive into a scrumptious perfect picnic, keep these little gems in mind. Just a couple of our personal favourites!
Literally a 5 min drive from the Burleigh Gold Coast Motel, this special spot is mind blowing on a beautiful sunny day! You can not beat it! With lifeguards on one side and a protected inlet on the other it is great for little ones to splash around. There are even rock pools and when the tide is right you might just find some sea creatures... 🦀
Another family favourite, the Currumbin Estuary hosts the massive Pirate Park, Dune cafe (yummy BLT and fries), a dog friendly section, great fishing and a stunning nature reserve that we like to go dinosaur hunting in!
10mins from the Burleigh Gold Coast Motel and you arrive in heaven! 🐠
Last but definitely not least, Kingscliff. Located just over the boarder in NSW, about a 30min drive from the Burleigh Gold Coast motel is a quaint little seaside town. Dividing Kingscliff and the next town of casuarina, is a magnificent Cudgen Creek. We tend to hit the Kingscliff hotel for a delicious meal and spend the afternoon playing in the sand and cool ocean waters. A really great day out and we promiseit will not dissapoint! 🐳
