When the big heat wave hit last week we realised that the beach was going to be packed and HOT HOT HOT 🔥 so we decided to take a trip into our beautiful Gold Coast hinterland and search for some rock pools to keep cool! We arrived at the main pools however they were filling up fast so decided to continue along the Currumbin Creek Road all the way to the end to a place called "Mt Cougal Section".
We finally found them and what a beauty! It had been years since we had ventured that deep into the Currumbin Valley, taking a track leading up into a beautiful section of the Springbrook National Park. After a no more then 5 min walk we heard the stunning sounds of a cascading waterfall and found a beautiful piece of paradise. With rock pools to explore, natural rock water slides and high jumping platforms, this beauty provides entertainment for the entire family.
You do have to weave, bend and climb a bit so we recommend not bringing to much. The water was cool, the laughter was loud and all in all, a fabulous day out that we highly recommend to all our guests staying at the Burleigh Gold Cost Motel 🏞
Ps, take a picnic to enjoy!
