Cooly Rocks On is back in Coolangatta Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027 — five days of classic cars, rock and roll, Elvis tributes and retro markets. What's on at Cooly Rocks On 2027
Five days of motors, music and 1950s–70s style take over Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. Program details change — use coolyrockson.com for times, street closures and tickets.
Show 'N' Shine runs Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 June along Marine Parade and Griffith Street. Experience Gold Coast lists more than 1,000 classics, hot rods and customs across nearly two kilometres of Coolangatta. The 2027 display is for vehicles built up to and including 1985. The 80s Zone (1980–1985) is back by application. Entries are through the festival site.
Saturday 12 June is the Saturday Night Car Cruise — Show 'N' Shine cars on the Coolangatta strip after dark. Free to watch. Entrant tickets are a festival add-on, not a motel booking.
Outdoor stages and a lot of the street program are free. Ticketed pieces usually include the Show 'N' Shine, car runs, the Moonlight Swing Dance and the VIP Legends Pass. The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest is a draw most years — Cooly Rocks On is one of only three Elvis Presley Enterprises–sanctioned preliminary rounds in Australia.
Pin-up pageants, the Beachside Rock and Roll Dance, Kustomville, and beachfront markets selling vintage clothing, records and memorabilia round out the week.

Getting to Coolangatta from Burleigh
Coolangatta is south of us, about 25–30 minutes by car on the Gold Coast Highway. Festival parking is tight. Arrive early, or use the park-and-ride options the festival publishes.
Without a car: G:link from the Christine Avenue stop on our corner runs south two stops to Burleigh Heads. Transfer to route 700 toward Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. 50-cent Translink fares with a go card or contactless.
Route 700 now runs between Tweed Heads and Stockland Burleigh Heads, connecting with the tram. It does not stop at Miami One and it does not run north of Burleigh Heads.
Route 777 is Gold Coast Airport ↔ Stockland Burleigh Heads only. Do not treat it as a festival bus. Flying in to stay with us: 777 to Stockland Burleigh Heads, then G:link north to Christine Avenue.
Bus 765 is on our corner — it runs to Robina, not Coolangatta.
Cooly Rocks On accommodation — stay in Burleigh
Coolangatta is the festival. Burleigh is where you sleep, eat and wake up without a hotel markup. We do not surge-price the event.
Drive or tram-and-bus down for the day, then come back to Paddock Bakery 150m away and a swim 200m down Sixth Avenue. Granddad Jack's, Precinct Brewing Co, Roji Cat Beer Bar and the Miami Tavern are a short walk. North Burleigh SLSC and North Burleigh Lookout sit at this end of the beach. James Street and Burleigh Heads village are two tram stops south — not a walk from the door.
Free on-site parking, one permit per room, no height restriction, subject to availability — useful if you would rather leave a classic off the festival streets overnight. Car clubs book a long way out. Coolangatta sells out early and the prices climb. We still take calls in May from people who left it too late. Book in the previous winter if you can — same room, no festival surcharge.
