Burleigh Gold Coast Motel · 3 September 2026

September is the month. The Titans close out the regular season at Robina on Friday night, Brisbane plays a qualifying final on Saturday, and there are two grand finals before the month is out. If you're coming up for a game or just want the footy on with the beach 200m away, this is the base.

Rooms from $125 a night, free outdoor parking, and the 765 to Cbus Super Stadium leaves from our corner.

What's on right now

Friday 4 September — Titans v Dolphins, Cbus Super Stadium. Round 27, the last round of the NRL regular season, and the Titans' final home game of the year. It's the Sunshine Showdown, and the record is lopsided: the Dolphins have won six of the seven meetings since 2023. About 20 minutes from the motel.

Saturday 5 September — Sydney v Brisbane, SCG, 3.15pm AEST. A qualifying final with a home preliminary final on the line. Brisbane are two-time reigning premiers chasing a three-peat, and they're the Queensland side still standing this year. One for the pub.

NRL finals run across four weekends from 10 September, with the Grand Final on Sunday 4 October at Accor Stadium in Sydney.

AFL finals are running five weeks for the first time, after a wildcard round was added ahead of the top eight. The Grand Final is Saturday 26 September at the MCG.

Two codes, four weekends, and every one of them a reason the rooms go early.

Cbus Super Stadium, Robina — 20 minutes

Home of the Gold Coast Titans, and the easiest stadium on the coast to reach from here without driving.

Route 765 stops on our corner and runs through to Robina station, with a short walk to the ground from there. Fifty cents a journey with a go card or contactless. No parking to find, no driving home after a Friday night game.

If you'd rather drive, it's about 20 minutes. Free parking back here when you return.

People First Stadium, Carrara — 25 minutes

Home of the Gold Coast Suns, about 25 minutes away. The men's home season at Carrara wrapped up in August, and the 2027 fixture is usually released late in the year — we'll have the home games listed once it lands.

Getting there without a car takes a connection: tram north from our corner to Broadbeach South, then a bus across to Carrara. Check it on the TransLink journey planner on the day, because event services often run on big fixtures.

Where to watch in Burleigh

No game on locally, or you'd rather watch it with a beer in your hand. Walking distance from us:

  • Club Burleigh — multiple screens, cold beer and good-value meals, right on the Gold Coast Highway

  • North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club — ocean views and screens showing the game. Hard to beat for a Saturday afternoon final

  • Burleigh Pavilion — beachfront, more bar than sports pub, but the big games go on

  • Local RSLs and sports clubs — the relaxed option, and usually the best-value feed

Bringing a group

Footy trips tend to arrive four or six at a time.

The interconnecting option is two rooms with a door between them, which means two separate living areas rather than everyone in one. Sleeps five to six from $295 a night, and you get two of everything: two bathrooms, two flat-screen TVs, two bar fridges, two microwaves, two kettles, two air conditioners.

Split six ways, that's a bit under $50 a head. The family room is cheaper per head at $195 for five, but it's one room. Ten dollars each is what the second living area and second bathroom cost you.

There's a coin laundry on site, and reception runs 9am to 7:30pm. If you're getting back late from a night game, call ahead on (07) 5576 3211 and we'll sort the arrival.

Room for the vehicle

Our carpark is outdoors, it's free, and there's no height restriction.

Most places between here and Surfers park you underground behind a clearance bar. Fine until you turn up in a high-top van or a dual-cab. One permit per room, subject to availability — ring ahead if you're bringing something out of the ordinary.

Our rooms

  • Double — sleeps 2 — from $125/night

  • Triple, ground floor — sleeps 3 — from $165/night. No stairs

Every room has a private ensuite, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with free-to-air channels, microwave, bar fridge, electric kettle, free Wi-Fi, fresh linen and towels, free toiletries, hair dryer and iron. Road-facing rooms have double-glazed windows available on request.

Looking at 2027

Both codes come back in March. NRL and AFL fixtures are usually out by late in the year, and Titans and Suns home-game weekends are the ones that move our rooms fastest — Friday and Saturday nights especially.

When the draws land they go into our Budget Gold Coast Accommodation guide alongside the rest of the calendar. Worth reading our guide to why we book out fast before you leave it late.
