The Gold Coast Film Festival returns 22 April to 3 May 2026. Twelve days of Australian premieres, outdoor screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and sunset cinema by the beach.

AACTA Festival - 4 to 8 February 2026

Australia's biggest celebration of screen culture, also at HOTA. Red carpet galas, industry panels, the AACTA Awards ceremony, and 100+ events across five days. This one just wrapped for 2026, but mark it for next year.


Sydney Film Festival - 3 to 14 June 2026

The 73rd edition of Sydney Film Festival. Over 200 films from around the world, red carpet premieres, filmmaker Q&As, and free outdoor screenings in Martin Place. Held at the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, and venues across Sydney.


MIFF is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. The 74th edition runs for 18 days with 275+ features, shorts, and immersive screenings across Melbourne. Held at ACMI at Federation Square, Forum Melbourne, and cinemas across the city.


By car: About 15 minutes via the Gold Coast Highway. Free parking at HOTA.

By bus: Route 700 runs from Miami to Broadbeach, then transfer to the G:link tram to HOTA. About 30-40 minutes total.

By tram (coming 2026): The light rail extension to Burleigh is under construction. Once complete, you will be able to tram it direct to HOTA.

Film industry professionals visiting for GCFF can book managed office space at Miami Business Centre, right down the road to the motel. Private offices, meeting rooms, and hot desks available by the day or week. Good for production meetings, editing sessions, or just a quiet spot to take calls between screenings.
