The Gold Coast Film Festival returns Wednesday 28 April to Sunday 9 May 2027 — twelve days across HOTA and Dendy Southport. Twelve days is a long run, and the beds closest to the venues are Surfers towers. This page is about the stay rather than the program: which room suits who is coming, what the parking and fares actually cost you, and how to get to a late gala without driving. Gold Coast Film Festival accommodation — 15 minutes from HOTA
We are at 1908–1910 Gold Coast Highway, Miami QLD 4220, corner of Christine Avenue. Address suburb is Miami. We are not in Burleigh Heads village.
36 rooms, and the right one depends on who is coming:
On your own or with a partner — a double. Private ensuite, air conditioning, flat-screen TV (free-to-air), microwave, bar fridge and kettle.
A crew or a few filmmakers sharing — triples and quads, or the interconnecting pair: two rooms with a door between, two bathrooms, sleeps 5–6. Useful when you want one room as a base and one to actually sleep in.
Family along while you are at screenings — family rooms, with the beach 200m down Sixth Avenue to keep everyone occupied during the day.
Stairs are a problem — ground-floor triples on request, subject to availability. There is no lift; other room types are upstairs.

Built for twelve days, not a weekend
A festival run is not a weekend away, and the things that matter change:
Coin laundry on site — the difference between packing for twelve days and packing for four.
Microwave and bar fridge in every room — breakfast and a late supper after a 9pm session, without another meal out.

Late arrival after a closing-night gala is fine — reception closes at 7:30pm, so call ahead and we will leave you a key.
Outdoor pool and the beach for the mornings — twelve days in dark cinemas earns some daylight.

Leave the car with us on gala nights
Parking here is free — outdoor, no height restriction, one permit per room, subject to availability. During GCFF that is worth more than it sounds.
HOTA parking is free for the first 4 hours between 9am and 7pm if you enter your rego at the meter on arrival, then an $8 flat day rate. It is free on public holidays and before 9am or after 7pm. There are almost 900 spaces, but HOTA says they fill during festivals — and a double-bill night puts you past four hours and into the flat rate, in a carpark that may already be full when you arrive.
So on the big nights, leave the car here and ride:
To HOTA — G:link from the Christine Avenue stop on our corner, north to Surfers Paradise, then walk across Chevron Island and the HOTA Green Bridge. HOTA puts that walk at about 20 minutes. The tram does not stop at HOTA itself.
To Dendy Southport — same tram, further north. No bridge walk.
Fares — 50 cents per Translink journey with a go card or contactless tap on and off.
From the airport — route 777 from Miami One (~300m), about 25 minutes. Bus 765 also stops on our corner.
HOTA lists buses 731, 738, 740 and 747 as well — plan the connection on Translink rather than guessing. Driving instead? It is about 15 minutes to HOTA via the Gold Coast Highway.
The festival itself, briefly
Two main venues: HOTA, Home of the Arts at 135 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise, and Dendy Southport, straight up the tram line from our corner. GCFF is AACTA-Award qualifying for feature films, and SIPFest (Shorts in Paradise) is its short-film showcase. Across the twelve days expect premieres, red carpet galas, filmmaker Q&As and industry sessions.
We do not list the lineup here, because it changes and gcff.com.au is the source. Chasing screen events at another time of year? HOTA also hosts the AACTA Festival from 3 to 7 February 2027, with the awards ceremony on Friday 5 February — same drive from here.
Working from the Coast during the festival
Industry visitors who need more than a desk in a motel room can book managed office space at Miami Business Centre down the road — private offices, meeting rooms and hot desks by the day or week.
