NRL 2026 — What to Watch

The 2026 NRL Telstra Premiership runs 27 rounds, with the top 8 into finals and the Grand Final in late September or early October. Queensland sides to watch:

•     Brisbane Broncos — one of the most-watched teams in the state, and always well supported on the Coast

•     Gold Coast Titans — your local NRL team, home games at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina, 20 minutes from our door

•     North Queensland Cowboys, Melbourne Storm and the Sydney clubs — perennial contenders worth planning a weekend around

Check the full NRL draw and live ladder at NRL.com.

Gold Coast Titans Home Games — Book Early

Cbus Super Stadium is in Robina — about 20 minutes from the motel. Take Route 765 from Miami One (300m from us) to Robina station and walk from there. No parking dramas, no driving after a big night. Titans home-game weekends fill our rooms fast, especially Friday and Saturday nights — lock in early. Titans tickets.

AFL 2026 — What to Watch

The 2026 AFL season runs to the Grand Final at the MCG in late September. Under the wildcard finals system the top 10 teams make finals, adding extra weeks of meaningful footy. Storylines:

•     Brisbane Lions — recent back-to-back premiers; the whole state is watching

•     Gold Coast Suns — home games at People First Stadium in Carrara, 25 minutes from us. In July the Suns host Collingwood at Carrara — a sell-out when the big Victorian clubs come to town, and exactly the kind of home-game weekend we book out

•     Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton — the Victorian heavyweights always bring their fans north for a Carrara clash

Gold Coast Suns Home Games — Carrara

People First Stadium at Carrara is about 25 minutes from the motel. When the big Victorian clubs visit, the atmosphere is genuinely great and the stadium fills — worth planning a trip around. Drive, or take Route 700 and connect through Broadbeach.

Where to Watch the Footy in Burleigh

No game on locally? Every pub and bar in Burleigh has the footy on. Best spots walking distance from the motel:

•     Club Burleigh — multiple screens, cold beers and good-value meals, right on the Gold Coast Highway

•     North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club — ocean views, cold beers and screens showing the game. Hard to beat for atmosphere

•     Burleigh Pavilion — beachfront bar, more vibe than sports pub but usually has the big games on

•     Local RSLs and sports clubs — always a relaxed game-day option
